Hi backers!
Hope everything has been going well. We have spent the last two months nose deep in preparation for manufacturing. That includes things like finding suppliers for all our components, placing orders on the longer lead-time components (batteries, certain ICs, etc.), and negotiating the contract with our manufacturer.
We ran into some unforeseen delays due to issues with our initial circuit board design which set us behind by a few weeks, but we've figured out the main problems and are back on track. We still expect to complete production by the end of October, but we most likely won't be able to ship the Beam out until November. We really appreciate all of your support and patience as we sort out these issues. We want the Beam to be as perfect as possible when it arrives at your doorstep.
As of now, we're close to finalizing our circuit board design and are producing samples to test. We'll be running full tests on these boards to verify all functionality before moving on to mass production. We're also putting together all of the assembly procedures with our manufacturer and working out our quality control processes.
Within the next few weeks we'll be able to lock down the production start date, and after production starts we'll be able to give you a more solid ship date.
